Guy Shababo

Guy Shababo is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Communication in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research focuses on forms of protest and political dissent in South Korea. His dissertation focused on a 17th century dissident in the Joseon court (1392-1910), whose writing earned him political execution. He is involved in several projects that study discourse patterns in traditional and social media in South Korea. Among them is the aftermath of the Sewol Ferry disaster in April 2014 and its possible association with the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye.
