Half a year ago, the Horizon 2020 project OPTED launched Meteor (meteor.opted.eu), an ambitious, freely accessible web-ressource for researchers in political communication. Meteor contains thousands of entries on news media from many European countries, including meta-information, as well as an overview of text analysis software, from data gathering over analysis to visualisation.

Interested researchers were invited to join us on February 28th, at 14:00 CET, on Zoom for an introductory event. In this short webinar, Work Package 3, based at the University of Vienna under the leadership of Prof. Hajo Boomgaarden, gave an overview of Meteor and it's capabilities and how it can help researchers in their scholarly work. The team highlighted the scope and progress of work on Meteor, as well as the future plans for the platform.
